Alien Base On the Moon: LUNA? or, Looney Tunes?

So, several sources claim that, on the side of the moon that never faces Earth (also called the dark side of the moon), there is an ET base or outpost or something -and that NASA and the Russian Space Agency both know about it!  Is this crazy or what?  This sounds even nuttier than pretending your child has been carried off by a home-made UFO balloon.  HOWEVER....now, [calming hands]...folks... let us examine these claims and search for any possible sound evidence before dismissing it completely, ...shall we? -we shall.  After all, even the famous scientist Carl Sagan, an outspoken UFO skeptic, claimed that we should not be utterly surprised should we find alien artifacts on the moon.

FIRST - There are the totally unverified reports (though confirmed by several former NASA employees [Otto Binder and Maurice Chatelain], Russian scientists, and the VHF guys who hacked the transmission) that Armstrong & Aldrin found giant ships on the moon, lining a crater, that basically "warned" them off the moon.  Karl Wolf, US Air Force, has also testified that in 1965, while repairing electronic photographic equipment at Langley Field for NASAs Lunar Orbiter project, he was told by a second class airman, "by the way, we've discovered a base on the back side of the moon." Watch his testimony...

SECOND - There are the well known phenomena of lunar lights called "lunar luminosities," reported more that 200 times, which scientists have no explanation for, despite various hypothoses such as atmospheric lightning and volcanic activity.  Large moving shadows, flashing lights, and beams of light have been reported traversing across the lunar surface.

THIRD - The eerie fact that, despite plans to build a moon base, and many other extremely good reasons to go back to the moon, we have not returned to the moon at all (except for quick soil scoops and such) since the original moon landing.

FOURTH - The Clementine Images. (taken directly from NASAs clementine image database)
NASA has provided the public with images from the 1995 Clementine satellite orbit of the moon (around the far side of the moon).  Several of these images contain portions that appear to be "smudged" or airbrushed.  Interestingly, these smudges appear in shapes that would fit giant towers and structures.

FIFTH - The images from Clementine that NASA provided to the public, are only 170,000 of the approximately 1,800,000 images taken by Clementine.  The rest of the images taken by Clementine are CLASSIFIED.  What kind of moon craters present classified information?

SIXTH - I don't really have a sixth, but.... I don't think I need one.  (It's a blog, not a book)

So, for now, stew on that.  You have NASA images of anomalies on the moon, classified moon images, rumors of encounters on the moon, the fact that we haven't returned to the moon, and all of the astronauts who claimed to have been followed by UFOs.  WIERD, HUH?.... let me know what you think.

Astronauts Who Claim to Have Seen UFOs

As promised, a follow-up to my "50 cent believes in aliens" post with something a bit more substantial.  There is a shockingly large number of astronauts, astronomers, and high ranking military officers who report direct experiences with or knowledge of UFOs and/or extra-terrestrial beings.

Major Gordon Cooper (one of the original Mercury astronauts, and the last American astronaut to fly alone)

During the final orbit around Earth during his 22-orbit flight, he reported to the tracking station at Muchea (in Australia) that he could see a glowing greenish object quickly approaching his capsule.  This object was solid and was tracked on radar by Muchea.  Cooper's sighting was reported by the National Broadcast Company, but when Cooper landed, reporters were told that they would not be allowed to question him about the UFO sighting.
Major Cooper was a firm believer in UFOs. Ten years earlier, in 1951 he had sighted a UFO while piloting an F-86 Sabrejet over Western Germany. They were metallic, saucer-shaped discs at considerable altitude and could out-maneuver all American fighter planes.

Major Cooper also testified before the United Nations:
"I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets... Most astronauts were reluctant to discuss UFOs."
"I did have occasion in 1951 to have two days of observation of many flights of them, of different sizes, flying in fighter formation, generally from east to west over Europe."

And according to a taped interview by J. L. Ferrando, Major Cooper said:
"For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public.

 Ed White (first American to walk in space) and James McDivitt

In June 1965, astronauts Ed White and James McDivitt were passing over Hawaii in a Gemini spacecraft when they saw a weird-looking metallic object. The UFO had long arms sticking out of it. McDivitt took pictures with a cine-camera. Those pictures have never been released.

James Lovell and Frank Borman (Gemini astronauts)

In December 1965 James Lovell and Frank Borman saw a UFO during their second orbit of their record-breaking 14 day flight. Borman reported seeing an unidentified spacecraft some distance from their capsule. Gemini Control, at Cape Kennedy told him that he was seeing the final stage of their own Titan booster rocket, but Borman confirmed that he could see the booster rocket AND the ufo.

During James Lovell's flight on Gemini 7:
Lovell: BOGEY AT 10 O'CLOCK HIGH.
Capcom: This is Houston. Say again 7.
Lovell: SAID WE HAVE A BOGEY AT 10 O'CLOCK HIGH.
Capcom: Gemini 7, is that the booster or is that an actual sighting?
Lovell: WE HAVE SEVERAL...ACTUAL SIGHTING.
Capcom: ...Estimated distance or size?
Lovell: WE ALSO HAVE THE BOOSTER IN SIGHT...

Neil Armstrong (unconfirmed) and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin (Gemini astronauts who walked on the moon)

Buzz Aldrin has been filmed in several interviews describing his sighting of a UFO during a Gemini flight.

A bit more interesting, but unconfirmed is that, according to several sources, on their famous walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong and Buzz apparently found giant craft on the moon that "warned them off."

After one of the astronauts describes some sort of light coming from a crater, ground control asks for more information.  Then the broadcast goes silent.  According to former NASA employee Otto Binder, Neil Armstrong was recorded by VHF hackers who bypassed NASAs broadcasting outlets:
Apollo11: These "Babies" are huge, Sir! Enormous! OH MY GOD! You wouldn't believe it! I'm telling you there are other spacecraft out there, Lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They're on the Moon watching us!

 Donald Slayton (Mercury atronaut)

In an interview, Donald Slayton revealed having approached very close to a metallic, saucer-shaped UFO in 1951, while test-flying a P-51 fighter in Minneapolis.

Major Robert White reported on July 17, 1962, having seen a "grayish" UFO at close range while flying an X-15.

Joseph A. Walker (NASA pilot)

On May 11, 1962 Joseph Walker said that one of his tasks was to detect UFOs during his X-15 flights. He had filmed five or six UFOs during his record breaking fifty-mile-high flight in April, 1962. It was the second time he had filmed UFOs in flight. During a lecture at the Second National Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space Research in Seattle, Washigton he said:

"I don't feel like speculating about them. All I know is what appeared on the film which was developed after the flight." -Joseph Walker
To date none of those films has been released to the public for viewing.

Commander Eugene Cernan (Apollo 17 Commander)

Eugene Cernan, commander of Apollo 17, discussed UFOs in a Los Angeles Times article in 1973, stating:

"...I've been asked (about UFOs) and I've said publicly I thought they (UFOs) were somebody else, some other civilization."

Maurice Chatelain (Former NASA contractor for Apollo communication systems)

In 1979 Maurice Chatelain confirmed that Armstrong had indeed reported seeing two UFOs on the rim of a crater. Chatelain believes that some UFOs may come from our own solar system -- specifically Titan.

"The encounter was common knowledge in NASA, but nobody has talked about it until now."
"...all Apollo and Gemini flights were followed, both at a distance and sometimes also quite closely, by space vehicles of extraterrestrial origin - flying saucers, or UFOs, if you want to call them by that name. Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission Control, who then ordered absolute silence."

NASA's Scott Carpenter stated: "At no time, when the astronauts were in space were they alone: there was a constant surveillance by UFOs."

Dr. Edgar Mitchell (Apollo astronaut)

Edgar Mitchell has been outspoken on his knowledge from first-hand eye-witnesses involved in the Roswell, NM crash, that a crashed saucer and alien bodies were indeed recovered, and that our governement monitors extra-terrestrial crafts.  For a fascinating and revealing interview with Dr. Edgar Mitchell on Discovery's website, click on this link:  http://dsc.discovery.com/space/qa/alien-ufo-edgar-mitchell.html

WOW.  And that's not even all of them.  You have to admit that this is extremely significant.  If you google "The Disclosure Project" you can watch the youtube video documenting MANY more military officers, pilots, and former NASA employees, all testifiying under oath about their UFO experiences.  You can click on this link to go to the Disclosure Project website: http://www.disclosureproject.org/ 

You have to ask yourself, "what's more crazy? that all of these credible, high-ranking individuals are delusional or lying, ..or that they are simply telling the truth?"  I think that given the number and quality of the testimonials, it would be crazier if they were all lying, conspiring, or suffering from delusions. 

Also, it is important to remember that although NASA was started as, and is supposed to be a "civillian organization," it is under complete CIA and/or military control with National Security imposing upon its every move.  ALL video and audio transmissions, photos, press releases and -everything else has to be filtered through the federal government & approved prior to public release.

An interesting note -in 1994 NASA sent the Clementine satellite around the far-side of the moon.  Clementine took 1.8 MILLION images and only 170,000 of those images were released to the public.  The rest of the images are classified.  ...CLASSIFIED?  WTF?  Classified moon craters?  (I'll talk more about this on my upcoming MOON post...)

At least one cannot deny that "something" is certainly going on....
